New sweater! I got this from Ann Taylor – it’s black, a chunky weave with dolman sleeves – I always love funky sleeves like this. I think this sweater will look fab as the weather cools – imagine it with dark skinny jeans and boots, maybe even with a short skirt and opaque tights, even with a long-sleeved fitted black tee underneath once winter hits. The pants are also Ann Taylor, but they are old. Like ready to donate old. I wore them last year and they are thin cotton sateen and stretch out in a ridiculous way. Like look cute in the AM, by noon it seems I am wearing a diaper. However with this sweater, you can’t see the crotch. I didn’t want to wear my white Gap pants because they flare, and thought these pants may give the look I am going for. Wish they were skinnier in the leg, but not bad. Shoes by Sofft, necklace fron Chico’s (have had for YEARS), silver cuff.

Hair is washed, conditioned, Frederick Fekkai’ed and then let air dry. I then took a curling iron and did a big section on either side of the face, curling out a la Farrah Fawcett. Finger combed once cool.

Makeup is Max Factor Pan-Stik in Medium, Nars blush in Orgasm, Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in Nude Lustre, Tarte Indelible Wink in black, DiorShow mascara in black (oh how I have missed you!).

It is AMAZING the difference between okay mascara and good mascara. This morning, using a lash curler (mine broke a couple months ago and I have been waiting to get to Sephora to get a new one) and a new tube of DiorShow, it’s a complete transformation from what I have been doing lately (scraping the bottom of the barrel of my old DiorShow, mixing with Benefit BadGal, and going sans curler). I swear, if I was stuck on a desert island and could only bring one type of makeup, it would be mascara and I would sneak in my lash curler!

As I mentioned in my previous post, they are discontinuing Shu Eumura lash curlers in the US. The salesperson in Sephora told me that they bought as many as they can. I have used Tweezerman, Japonesque and Revlon lash curlers and none of them can compare to Shu Eumura. I was tempted to buy another just so I would be prepared. If you have never used a lash curler, I recommend you try one out, you will be amazed how it opens up your eye, makes your lashes look longer, and just enhance the whole eye! If you can’t get your hands on a Shu Eumura, even one from Revlon or another drugstore brand gives enough impact to make it worthwhile.

  1. Kalee I didn’t know about this free Fekkai at Saks. Even so, I won’t be able to go because I work until 5 and have Weight Watchers at 6 back home. It’s nice down there if you haven’t been – I managed the Express in Chevy Chase before it closed, surprisingly nice shopping, quiet area, and right on the Metro (though you would prob drive from where you are). If I could go I would totally meet up with you!

And thanks everyone! I love black and white, it’s such a clean modern look! 🙂

  2. Long time anonymous reader here. Ann Taylor should really hire you as their model, you always make their clothes look so good and I end up going into their stores only to find their stuff not so fab on myself 🙂 Also you are one to make black and white together look timeless and fresh!

  3. Why oh why are they discontinuing the Shu Eumera? Are they crazy? And I agree about Diorshow, nothing compares for me.

Speaking of Fekkai, will you be heading to SAKS tomorrow for your free bottle of whatever? I’m trying to get up the nerve to drive down to Chevy Chase on my own and pick up a bottle of the glossing cream since I’ve run out.

    Love the sweater!
