For a cookie exchange at our friends' house, the vibe is festive but not extremely formal. Continuing with the concept of having a festive or formalwear capsule wardrobe, I reused some pieces I've already worn on the blog to give a completely different look for this holiday get together. This is the same skirt I wore in this post, and the same fabulous shoes from Payless that I wore in this post. Adding a plaid shirt (last seen in this post) gives a more relaxed vibe, but the red threads through it makes it feel appropriate for the season and ties in the sparkly heels. A red lip and Santa hat is all that's needed to complete the look! Wardrobe Oxygen featuring Payless ombre glitter pumps for the holidays Payless is a great resource for finding fabulous shoes for your formalwear capsule wardrobe. Payless does a fantastic job of offering current trends for less. These shoes are amazing; the ombre effect makes them unique and not too Wizard of Oz-looking. If heels aren't your thing you're in luck; Payless offers this same glorious ombre red glitter look in their Chelsea flat (the Chelsea flat also comes in a silver to gold ombre glitter that is gorgeous but unfortunately neither color were in my size at my nearby store). But such a shoe is exactly what can take basics in your wardrobe and make them holiday ready for very little cost.

  1. I copied your outfit today and my teenage daughters have approved as modern, cool and festive. 3 out of 3! I wondered though about shoes. I have black shoes and am wearing black sheer hose. But I’d like to have more festive shoes and loved some silver ones you suggested. Can I still wear black hose?

  2. You look great, as always. I’d be scared to death to wear something so pretty to a party involving cookies. I have a knack for making a mess!
