I've totally jumped on the statement earring trend.  I had those gorgeous gold Jenny Bird earrings in yesterday's post, these tassel earrings from Baublebar (they come in a bunch of different colors and no they aren't heavy), the hot pink balls in this post, and I have some insanely fabulous silver ones from ASOS I'll be showing soon.  Such a fun way to add a pop to an outfit!

I mentioned this ELOQUII dress in this shopping review post and I've been wearing it to death since I received it.  The print is teeny tiny succulents; cutesy prints isn't usually my jam but this one is subtle enough to just be a joke with me and anyone who gets close enough to examine.  I love that it's machine washable and it has POCKETS! I wore it to work with pumps like this, and also wore with black tights and ankle booties.  I wore it to a baby shower, I wore it out for dinner, and I likely will wear it tonight to a VIP event to celebrate an ELOQUII store opening in the DC area.

For those in the DMV (District/Maryland/Virginia) get yourself to The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City where the very first ELOQUII brick and mortar shop has opened!  For three months ELOQUII will have a pop-up shop on Level 2 in this mall, and this is no cheesy makeshift pop-up, it's a fully-fledged 2,600 square foot beautiful store chock full of ELOQUII fashion with a trained staff of stylists to assist you in finding the right fashion and the right fit. iPad stations in the store will allow customers to explore the website and view community members wearing ELOQUII on screens tied to the company’s user-generated content #XOQ hashtag program. Customers are also invited to share their looks from the dressing room.   While the store had a soft launch, the grand opening starts tomorrow; RSVP on Facebook and I hope to see you there!

Saturday started with yoga, then checking out new dining tables at various retailers. Nothing exciting- black yoga pants from ProSpirit, teal scoop tee from Gap, New Balance trainers and a coat. Usually don’t go out in public in workout clothes (big personal no-no) but we were strapped for time. Dashed home still sans a dining…

  1. How cute is that dress? And I love pockets as long as they are set in correctly. I need to know, are those sitting down shoes or do you actually walk around in those???

P.S. totally bought the universal standard dress and two of their tanks. The weight of the fabric is impressive.

    1. Isn’t the Universal Standard nice? Such good quality. And these shoes are pretty walkable, by far my favorite pumps. They are the “Flax” from Nine West and this is likely my 4th pair in black. I keep getting them reheeled and even resoled but they stretch out and get icky with so much wear. I have them in a few other colors and patterns too because they’re pretty comfy (wearing them today and walked to lunch a couple blocks away!).

  2. I do love this dress on you Ally!
Although let me confess that I’m not a big pocket girl. It probably stems from the fact that my mom (the 70’s model on my blog) used to removed them all the time from her clothing–she always said she did that so it wouldn’t make her look bigger! Silly, huh?

  3. You look great in this dress. And how cool that it has pockets! I love pockets! The bright earrings on you too are just perfect. What do you think about wearing this dress with some colorful shoes? Red?

      1. Girl, you look like a happy six year old in this outfit. In a very good way. Yay for pockets! Where else does the cellphone go when a dress doesn’t have them?
