‘Tis the season for fire pits, football games, s’mores, hiking to view fall foliage, and other outdoor group activities. Not too cold to spend quality time outside with friends and family, but cold enough that you need to figure out the right layers that keep you cozy but able to move and enjoy the moment….
Dress – c/o Ann Taylor (similar) Belt – Another Line (similar) Shoes – Miss Sixty (similar) Cuff – Owned since 1997 This morning I was thinking of getting all creative, pairing my new polka-dotted silk CAbi shirt with a vintage sequined jacket and dark jeans. I started getting dressed and just felt hot, too layered,…

April showers bring May flowers, right? It rained all night and was…
Cardigan – Ann Taylor Tee – LOFT Necklace – J. Crew (similar) Jeans – NYDJ Boots – DUO “Catalonia” This morning I got up, washed up, and went downstairs in my bathrobe to let out the three dogs. Ruckus is a Boxer, and 13 years old. While he thinks sometimes he is still a puppy,…

The self-timer on my iPhone and this handy (and nicely priced) Bluetooth phone remote have helped me capture more of what I’ve worn off the blog. These are all casual looks as my nicer ensembles got captured and shared as true outfit posts. What I wear on weekends, early mornings, when I’m sick, and when…
I love these colors together!
It’s a fun mix!
It’s a little like wearing Navy Blue with Black.
I think it’s good, both colors are deep toned.
I think the accessory or top you wear is important and should help signal that you didn’t get dressed in a dim room and grab pants/jacket that you thought matched. So a pin, scarf, top that accentuates the deliberate nature of your color choice seems good.
Great suggestions!
I hate to say it, as I usually like your outfits, but this one isn’t working. The colors are too similar, so it makes it look as if you got dressed in the dark.
I hear you. it’s definitely not for everyone! I remember when I wore hot pink and red to work and my male supervisor asked if I got dressed in the dark! LOL
Love that combination! Chic and effortless.
Thank you!
I’m still curious about the Chili Bowl restaurant. What is chili half-smoke?
Half smoke (it’s a DC thing): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half-smoke
Since it’s eaten like a hot dog, you eat it with chili, cheese, onion, etc. Ben’s Chili Bowl in DC is probably the most famous purveyor of a half smoke with chili.
Thanks Mary! Yes, if you come to DC, if you eat hot dogs, do visit ben’s Chili Bowl and have a half smoke with chili! 🙂
I love this combo on you; it’s a daring duo. If I was a few years younger, I’d give it a go.
Oh this color combo doesn’t have an expiration date! It’s all about silhouettes and which separates you choose to make it work for your age and personal style! <3
These are the best photos of you with a back drop. They are ART. It is so POW.
Thank you! It’s been fun collaborating with Karl for good backdrops for each outfit!
WOW! The outfits are terrific, and the photographs magnificent. You look chic, happy, full of confidence and energy.
Thank you Alex!
What a great way to break up that suit Allie!!!
And this color combination is the perfect way to usher in spring!!! I’m totally inspired!!
XOXO
