I planned to stick to a simple color palette of black, white, and red but then remembered I had a few things to take into work so I needed a larger purse. I thought the Brahmin would be fun, another color added to the mix. Not until Karl took my pictures and said, “It's not yet July 4th” did I realize that adding this bag made me look quite patriotic. Well, nothing wrong with that!

  1. Not sure Chris, I haven’t been on the hunt but if I see any I will let you know. I do always trust brands like Lands’ End for such things, I know a friend who recently got a denim (not white) jacket fromASOS.com that he loves (they have a Curve line for extended sizes, free shipping & returns).

  2. Allie,

Speaking of white jackets, what are your store/manufacturer recommendations for a white jeans jacket?

    Thanks!

    Chris

  3. Allie,

Speaking of white jackets, what are your store/manufacturer recommendations for a white jeans jacket? I don’t expect you to do all the work. I looked at about 10 different store’s website. Plenty of indigo jackets but no white.

    Thanks!

    Chris

  4. red, white and blue is very much the color scheme of this year – I see it all over the place and not usually as someone trying to be patriotic!

  6. Hi
I live in Australia. I just wanted to say that I have a quick look at your blog everyday, but I have never made a comment. I am so disappointed by the rude comments you received recently, but your influence is international!I bought the floral Talbot’s pants (12 May 2012 posting)  online and wore them to work today with a black Alannah Hill coat http://shop.alannahhill.com.au/
As you know we are in the depths of winter here and so thought the pants might be a cheerful addition, they drew admiring comments from many (from our always chic CEO who is over 60  to the 21 year old receptionist). Anyway the link to your post today was that when I was asked where the pants came from we all started sharing stories of our visits Stateside!
    Thanks,
    J

  8. I just wanted to add to the other comments of  support. I am a lurker! Your blog was one of the first I ever started reading a few years ago and I still follow you. I live in a different country to you and I’m a totally different shape and size to you but I love your blog because you show it is possible to be stylish and trendy without conforming to the fashion industry idea of a woman. You rock!

  10. Your hair looks super adorable today and I love, love, love the bracelets!

I should have worn a blue shirt with my white shorts today – I already carry a red purse! (Obviously, I’m not at work today – even I can’t wear shorts to work unless it’s Field Day.)

  12. I love the red and blue together!

BTW, I notice that you call hubby Karl instead of K or hubby like you have in the past.

  14. I wore white cropped jeans today and a blue shirt, but totally flubbed up the unintentionally patriotic look by wearing turquoise accessories.  Boo-urns.  I can’t even unintentionally do something right, you know?  😉
