Friday night I got home and realized I spilled on my dress, so I switched to the dress that arrived in the mail – the “Kate” dress from J. Crew in “Flame.” This is a bright orange-red that I adore. On sale and with a coupon so the dress was a cheap as Old Navy. Score! Same accessories.
Attended a circle of women in my community which was really wonderful. Met some new people, connected closer with those I already knew, had some of the BEST watermelon of the season!
Saturday… for the life of me I cannot remember Saturday. Oh yes, yoga, then lunch with my mom, then ran errands. I came home and tried out some of the camping supplies for our upcoming trip to Bonnaroo, waterproofed my Duo boots, took a nap, went out to dinner… nothing terribly exciting and no pictures.
Sunday began with errands and then yoga.

Walking around Washington DC this weekend I saw this truck. It was at a red light and I was only one of over two dozen women who had stopped dead in her tracks to gawk/drool over the display. Click on the photo for a larger version. This truck was an entire ad for Marshall’s –… Continue Reading I Know it Made ME Want to Go Shoe Shopping!
I donโt like wearing pants but as a feminist I feel I should embrace them. I want to be respected for my thoughts and not seen first as a woman but itโs hard to do so in a dress. Any tips on how to incorporate pants into the wardrobe of a petite plus sized apple… Continue Reading Ask Allie: Feminism and Fashion
Itโs been twenty years since Iโve reported to a classroom on the Tuesday after Labor Day in an outfit carefully chosen ahead of time, but I still associate September with renewal. New classes. New clothes. New pens. New notebooks. And most welcome, a change of season. In September, the weather can reach 75 degrees and… Continue Reading A Life, Replotted: On Renewal
I believe any woman, of any age, can wear whatever makes her happy. That being said, as a woman in her 40s I know that some silhouettes and fabrics that made me happy in the 20s don’t make me as happy now. Lifestyle changes, body changes, and changing priorities for what I choose to add… Continue Reading The Best Extended-Size Joggers for Grown-Ass Women: 8 Brands Reviewed

By Kim Kash I live in Saudi Arabia, where Muslim women cover their hair (and sometimes their whole face except for their eyes) and wear loose-fitting, long garments.ย Iโm an American living on a very large, international compound where women do not have to cover. So I am hardly an expert on Saudi womenโs fashion.… Continue Reading Covered Style, Fashion in the Middle East

LOVE that dress with those sandals. What a fantastic color, reminds me of that long ago blood orange Mizrahi sweater at Target.
