Wardrobe Oxygen, over 40 size 14 blogger in a weekend look for fall

It's still summer, but before we know it the temps will be dropping and fall will arrive. I find my closet is already in transition; jeans paired with short-sleeved tops, this jacket often thrown over a tee or tank and jeans. This has been a surprisingly mild summer and I've been glad I didn't pack away all my toppers.  This jacket is a great one; I've never been a utility jacket kind of person.  I did the utility jacket/dressy skirt look many moons ago but since then each time I try it, it feels weird and clunky on me.

This is one reason I like Dia&Co, I got this jacket and was thinking oh heck no when I saw it, but I tried it on and liked how it's a soft drapey fabric, I can cinch the waist, it's made to have rolled sleeves… it's a good throw on as I run out the door kind of jacket and when paired with a scarf, it makes an old tee shirt and jeans look polished.

When looking through ASOS' wide with shoe collection I saw these booties and couldn't resist. I've wanted a low, casual boot with some hardware on it I can beat up and the price of these was perfect. I've tried them with shorts but even with my fake tan, my legs are still too pasty to wear black ankle boots. This is the first time I've worn them outside the bedroom but I know come fall and winter they'll get a lot of wear.

I know you all have been waiting to see how the Hermรจs scarf turned out! Vanna White is here to show you the result. As I mentioned in this post about Hermรจs Hermรจsmatic, I chose the red/pink dip dye color.

It softened all the colors, changing the bright gold to more of a coral-tinted shade. The scarf itself is a bit softer, more like sandwashed silk. I like it, it's not so gold, and not so dressy. It's a much better look for my personal style and wardrobe and believe now it will get a lot more wear.

As I shared on Facebook, I wore it to work this past Tuesday as a belt, and the day prior I wore it like I did in this post, but with my black Loveappealla jumpsuit.  I love how it looks with denim, and want to pair it with more warm colors like pink, red, orange, and berry this fall!

  1. Oh, I wish I’d known about Hermesmatic! I have had an hermes scarf in my closet for ages. I never wear it because it is a bright orangey red equestrian print, and just so not me. I will have to be on the lookout for the dye service in the future. Yours looks great!

  2. I know this sounds like a contradiction. The scarf is still bright but more subtle. It suits you better. They did a good job.

  3. That jacket is another surprisingly flattering topper. It seems to come down to a nice drapey fabric, huh?

  4. I really love the “after” colors…softer and more contemporary somehow. And I’m still crushing on that b&w ginham dress…it’s so fabulous!!!

  5. My BFF bought one of the scarves from the pop-up and loves it overdyed. I love how the color changed on yours. It’s definitely softer but a better color story than the gold was!
