If you follow me on Snapchat, you know I wore this look last Thursday to the Goodwill VIP Popup Trunk Show at the Pepco Edison Gallery. What a fun evening! I met a few friends for “linner” at Zaytinya beforehand, and saw many more (and a few of you fabulous people!) at the event. After I went with my BFF and sister to Proof for a glass of wine before heading home. There were racks for each blogger who curated a collection, plus plenty more and upcycled furniture and art by Tim Kime.
I found this dress on Etsy. I was looking for tee shirt style dresses, hopefully one that could be off the shoulder and not basic black, grey, or navy. This one came up from momandpopcultureshop, and I loved the Gauguin-inspired print and the batwing sleeves. The dress is in pristine condition, I wonder if it had ever been worn or even laundered. Attending a Goodwill event, I really wanted to wear something thrifted. I knew this would be a fun event so I wanted to wear color and something joyful. This dress was perfect! To amp up the fun factor, I styled it with bright orange suede pumps, a printed clutch (a favorite), and my bamboo name earrings. Sometimes a lack of coordination (there isn't even any orange in my dress) pulls everything together!

This pictures shows a bit of the event as well as me and Michsi shopping the collection (photo via Goodwill of Greater Washington). There was so much good fashion! Vintage, popular designers, handmade oddities, some pieces still with original sale tags still attached!
Here I am with Alison, Sydney, and Rosana outside the event. Other than my feet hurting by the end of the night, this was a perfect outfit for the event. Thank you all who attended the event, Goodwill raised a nice amount of money, and I know many of you left with some fabulous fashion scores (I left with this adorable vintage coat which only cost $14!). I'm honored to have been part of this great event that supported a great organization that does so much for the DC area!

This year I think I made some smart purchases. I bought less (an arm in a cast can curb anyone’s shopping habit), and I bought smarter. While I narrowed the color story in my closet, I don’t think it narrowed my style or personality. The things I am most glad I purchased this year and…
You’d think I wouldn’t love off-the-shoulder tops because I have a large bust and require a bra with some serious hardware to have the breasts look the way I like. But there’s something about an off-the-shoulder top that is sexy, and it’s a way to feel sexy, and the devil may care without showing a…
Talbots is kind enough to occasionally gift me pieces from their New Arrivals. You know by now I love their Audrey sweaters and got two this fall in the pink and green options. I’m typing this while wearing the pink one! But I also loved the fall classic vibe of this shetland blazer with gold…

When today started I really thought it was Friday. I dressed thinking it was Friday. Black cherry tissue-weight merino v-neck from J. Crew, white ribbed tank from J. Crew, denim trousers from Gap, black city boots from Impo, silver hoops and cuff bracelet. Hair was not washed, brushed out and then blown straight with a…
Yesterday… Y’all didn’t miss much. My tunic top from Language Los Angeles, my Essential jeans, tan sandals, silver jewelry, second-day hair. No pics. Here is today… warmer day than we have had in a bit so eeking out the last few times I can rock the summer sandals and dresses… Purple print jersey knot-front dress…

LOVE the outfit and so bummed I missed the event. I’m a big fan of Goodwill and, of course, of your blog. Hope to catch the next time you do something locally.
That dress is fabulous, and I love how you styled it!

I’ll be sure to share if I am attending something ahead of time on social media (most likely Facebook). Would be great to meet!
Great idea to wear something thrifted to the Goodwill event – these colors look great and the dress seems to have been made for you..
