This is one of those looks where it's the details that make it. I've essentially worn this same exact outfit hundreds of times. Blazer, striped tee, dark jeans, black boots, even the Ray-Ban aviators. But what keeps it from looking tired are tiny tweaks. The earrings are a recent addition. Statement earrings are back and I loved how these bright pink ones from BaubleBar can dress up or down, aren't too heavy, and don't get lost in my dark hair. I continued the pink with this bright rose lipstick from Beautiful Rights; it's called Pantsuit Pink and 20% of the sale goes to your choice of six different charities including the ACLU.
While I still love my leopard calfhair Mini MAC from Rebecca Minkoff, I desired a bag that is small (but not too small) and free of color, pattern, and metal hardware. The MAB Camera Bag is a perfect addition to my wardrobe. While it's small, in there I can still fit my large wallet, sunglasses case, and a few other purse essentials like lipstick and my phone. Speaking of phone, the second tassel on my purse is a phone charging cord! I featured it in a holiday gift guide and ended up buying one for me and one for my sister. In my purse is a plug, so I'm ready to charge at any outlet or laptop!

I was perusing the J. Crew New Arrivals and was so inspired by the colors, the mix of textures, and the very wearable styles for early fall, that I began seeing a capsule wardrobe. Why keep it to myself? This is the early fall capsule wardrobe I created, inspired by J. Crew New Arrivals. J….
I bought this striped dress on our weekend at National Harbor. I visited a boutique called The Pinkwell, which carries regular and plus sizes. I tried this dress on over jeans and thought it was a cool effect, but I have since also worn it with tights and, when the weather warmed, just tall boots….
Friday I had the day off. As you can see by the picture, my husband was pretty happy about it! This is a super casual outfit – we started the day by having breakfast with my mom (and Emerson of course!). We then ran a couple errands but spent the rest of the day together…
I saw this dress arrive at Gwynnie Bee and immediately added it to my virtual closet. Then I saw it look so good on my friend Emily and look good on my friend Jamie and I was so anxious for it to finally arrive so I could enjoy it. Finally last week it arrived! Dress:…
White tailored shirt with stretch from Ann Taylor, black wool blend coin-pocket trousers from Ann Taylor Loft, leopard peep-toe heels from BCBGirls, silver hoops, silver cuff, silver necklace bought at a Renaissance Festival, looped around neck twice. Hair is on the second day, dryer and round brush used on dry hair to remove any bed-head….
It’s the shape, the structured rectangle. The inside is lined in cotton with a couple small pockets. I don’t fully understand why this one is called a camera bag; I had an orange RM before called a camera bag and it reminded me of the bag my dad’s binoculars were stored in – far more structured with a wide opening. This is just a rectangular crossbody 🙂
They’re not a perfect match, I kinda liked how they were similar (both cool pinks) but the earrings just brighter/bolder version. And this blazer is such a rule breaker, busty short people aren’t supposed to wear double breasted but I think it’s pretty flattering! Thanks Emily, I always look forward to your comments
Oh, you look so business-like, yet super glam at the same time! These are the “What I Wore” posts that have great photos and, at the same time, give me ideas for a similar look. The double-breasted jacket and fitted, lean cut pants make for a sharp business look. I too am a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff bags as I love the edgy vibe she adds to each design. Your pink earrings are super cute as well. You definitely exude a polished look ready for the work day.
In the photos, your earrings and the red signal lights echo each other. 🙂 Nice photo-geek touch 🙂
Also, you look great! This is exactly the kind of “business casual” I can not pull off well. 🙁 Blazers just don’t work for me, and I don’t wear heels. You do this so well.
I bet that was Karl’s plan, I thought the other direction looked better but he liked this direction! Blazers are hit and miss for me, some just make me look like Spongebob!
Sooooo….would the camera bag hold a real camera (aka the type Karl and I use) or is it more the shape?
You look wonderful, as usual 🙂

Thanks lady! I currently use a Tignanello backpack for my camera bag, that’s why I wondered 🙂
Love that jacket on you! Normally I don’t like the look of double breasted jackets, but you look great
Thank you!
For me the lipstick and earrings are actually clashing with each other a little (maybe it’s just the lighting?) but I LOVE the cut of the blazer.

Wow! Great outfit! Love those earrings on you.
Thank you Christine!

Not this one. It’s sharp.
Grace, I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the photos.
I noticed that right away also. I thought, “That must be Karl’s touch. That it something a photographer would see and find hard to resist.”
Chris
You really rocked the pant suit. It IS the details that makes it special.
Thank you!
I’m so glad that statement earrings are back! I love that pop of pink.
Thanks!
