Vacation at my cousin's house on the lake has been fantastic, and I must say fashion is not at the forefront of my mind. In such a community, shorts and sandals are the uniform. Jewelry and makeup are minimal since the days are being spent outside in the sun (of course always covered with sunscreen!). This evening my cousins had some neighbors over for dinner and then we went for a sunset cruise on the boat. I wore this knit dress from Lands' End that has already become a favorite this summer – I can toss it in the washer and dryer and I love that it has pockets (and also easily covers bra straps). Bare feet is how I have gone most of the week, though I did throw on a pair of Reef “Sandy” flops for the boat ride.
Heading home tomorrow which is bittersweet. We have had a blast and it has been so wonderful to spend time with my family, but I do miss my home, the dogs, and the community.

I had a great time down there, didn’t have any time for shopping but I know I will be back many more times. My relatives don’t plan on moving, and I do plan on seeing them on a regular basis! 🙂

Allie, I looked at your Instagram pics and you were in my backyard! I’ve visited that zoo a million times as my son loves it, we go about once a month! Maybe I’m wrong but I hope you had a wonderful visit! You didn’t mention shopping but I do hope if you visit our lovely palmetto state again (if I’m right) you venture downtown cola for some neat & unique shops plus a short trip to our holy city on Kings St. Love the pics!

Hooray! You’ve made my day. I have this dress in Wild Cherry and love it so much I went back to get another color…but it had disappeared from their site and I was very sad. Glad to see it’s back. Now my dilemma is Palm Pink, Asparagus, or both???
